Wakkanai Park-Hokkaido

What is Wakkanai Park?
Wakkanai Park, located on a hill in Wakkanai City, Hokkaido's northernmost town, is a park that symbolizes the northernmost point of Japan.
The park is known for its spectacular view of Wakkanai city, Soya Bay, and Sakhalin, and there are many monuments to peace in the park, such as the "Ice and Snow Gate" and the "Monument to the Nine Maidens".
Lush greenery from spring to fall and lavender and azaleas in bloom during the summer months make it a popular stopover for strolling and driving.
Wakkanai Park Attractions and Things to Do

The main attraction of Wakkanai Park is the overwhelming panoramic view of the Soya Straits and Rishiri Island.
Especially at sunset, the sky and sea turn orange, creating a fantastic sight.
In addition, the "Ice and Snow Gate" in the park is a monument erected to commemorate those who died in Karafuto at the end of the war, and is visited by many people as a place to quietly pray for peace.
