What is Mt.
Meakan-dake is an active volcano located in Akan-Mashu National Park in eastern Hokkaido at an elevation of 1,499 meters. The volcano is a popular spot for mountaineering and volcano sightseeing in Hokkaido, as it is a magnificent counterpart to Akanfuji, and the crater that still spews out smoke can be seen from close quarters.
